This will be necessary to check the health of your hard drives for any error and failures when connection/accessibility issues occur.
Running First Aid on Mac:
- Plug external hard drive into your Mac.
- Go into Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility.
- On the top menu of the Disk Utility window you will see 'First Aid' (see screenshot above), click to run the check.
- If all goes well it will produce a green check mark. If all does not go well you will see a red warning symbol, expand the arrow to see what errors it found (save these for future reference, our support team may need them to give you visibility on what the issue could be).

Running Health Check on PC:
- Click on 'Start' or the Windows icon at the bottom left corner and choose 'File Explorer'.
- Find your external hard drive on the left hand side bar, right click on it and go into 'Properties'.
- In Properties, click on 'Tools' and then click on 'Check'. (see screenshot above).
- If all goes well it will produce a green check mark. If all does not go well you will see an error log (save these for future reference, our support team may need them to give you visibility on what the issue could be).
