To see all your items and delete multiple files:
Simply access your Kwilt device from your personal computer (Windows or Mac) through your home network (see 'How do I connect my Kwilt device to a Windows PC or Mac computer?) and through the computer’s native file system, you can move, add or delete files on your Kwilt's connected storage devices.
To format or re-format/erase your drives:
This may need to be done if your drive is in the wrong formatting/partition or if you want to start fresh/set up a new drive.
WARNING: Erasing and partitioning a device destroys all data on all volumes of the device.
Using a PC
- Unplug your USB drive from the Kwilt device and plug it into your personal computer. (Be sure to properly eject it via Manage Devices before unplugging).
- Click on 'Start' or the Windows icon at the bottom left corner and choose 'Control Panel'. Alternatively, you can do a 'Quick format' by right-clicking on the drive via 'Devices & Drive.
- Open 'Administrative Tools' then 'Computer Management'.
- In 'Disk Management' from the left sidebar find your drive.
- Right-click on it and choose 'Format'. *It will prompt asking if you want to format disk, reformatting disk will DELETE everything on the drive!*
- Format window will ask you to name the drive, under 'File System' choose 'NTFS' format *recommended*, under 'Allocation unit size' choose your desired storage capacity or do all, click OK.
- Drive is now formatted and ready for use! Always remember to eject disk before unplugging. ('Devices & Drives', right click on the drive and select 'Eject')
Using a Mac
- Unplug your USB drive from the Kwilt device and plug it into your personal computer. (Be sure to properly eject it via Manage Devices before unplugging).
- Open 'Disk Utility' in Applications > 'Utilities'.
- Choose your drive from 'External' on the left sidebar.
- Click on 'Partition' from the top middle of the window, choose 'Master Boot Record' then 'ExFat' format and name your drive.*It will prompt asking if you want to format disk, reformatting disk will DELETE everything on the drive!*
- Drive is now formatted and ready for use! Always remember to eject disk before unplugging. (Click 'Eject' icon or right click on the drive on the desktop)
